Shell Cove, the Village and the new estates.
Shellharbour City runs from Lake Illawarra and Warilla down to Shell Cove's marina and Shellharbour Village, then west to Albion Park and the growing estates at Calderwood and Tullimbar. Most of it is within a few minutes of the M1, which is why fares across most of the city sit within about $20 of each other, from $350 at Warilla to $370 at Calderwood.
Those new western estates are full of young families, which is where the bigger cars come in: the Executive SUV for a family of four, the Premium SUV for prams and a fortnight of luggage, or a People Mover, quoted on request, when grandparents come too.
Sydney Airport or Western Sydney International?
From Shellharbour, Western Sydney International and Sydney Airport T1 are the same distance by road, about 99 km each (the WSI road leaves the M1 for Appin Road), so both fares are $360 in the Executive Sedan. The WSI drive takes about 10 minutes longer.
Getting from Shellharbour to the airport.
Shellharbour Junction, Oak Flats and Albion Park are on the electrified line. Until 14 November 2026, South Coast Line trains stop at Wolli Creek, the simple change for the airport. From 15 November 2026 they run into Central instead of Bondi Junction and no longer stop at Wolli Creek, so getting to the terminals by train means changing at Sutherland or Hurstville and again at Wolli Creek, or riding into Central and back out on the Airport Line (ABC News, NSW Government).

Link Airways suspended its Shellharbour flights to Brisbane and Melbourne from 20 May 2026, and no replacement service has been announced (Region Illawarra). For now every Shellharbour flight starts at Sydney Airport or Western Sydney International.
