Gerringong is a small town with a big weekend calendar. Werri Beach and Gerroa's Seven Mile Beach fill with visitors, and the wineries and resorts around town host weddings almost every weekend of the season. A pickup from a winery or resort around town uses the Gerringong fixed fare, and Gerroa has its own.
Sydney Airport or Western Sydney International?
From Gerringong, Western Sydney International is about 126 km via the M1 and Appin Road, almost the same as Sydney Airport T1 (127 km). WSI is $440, T1 $445.
Why the train is hard work from Gerringong.
South of Kiama the line is a diesel shuttle, so a Gerringong train trip starts with a change at Kiama. From 15 November 2026 Sydney trains also stop calling at Wolli Creek, so the terminals are two changes away via Central, or three via Sutherland or Hurstville and Wolli Creek (ABC News, NSW Government).

South of Kiama the South Coast Line isn't electrified, so trains from Gerringong are shuttles that connect with Sydney services at Kiama. Add the end of the Wolli Creek stop and the train to the airport becomes a multi-change trip. This is the stretch of coast where a fixed-fare car makes the most sense.
