Names

ENGIE Stadium took its name on 7 March 2024. You may still see GIANTS Stadium, Spotless Stadium or Sydney Showground Stadium on older tickets and maps.

Cricket and AFL

The Sydney Thunder play BBL|16 home games at ENGIE Stadium on 19 and 27 December 2026 and 2 January 2027, and the GWS GIANTS play AFL home games there from May 2027.

How event nights work at Sydney Olympic Park.

Drop-off and pick-up

At selected major events, Sydney Olympic Park Authority directs hire cars that are only dropping off or picking up to a shared area on Uhrig Road; taxis use the ranks on Herb Elliott Avenue (and Edwin Flack Avenue, Coach Pod B, on Accor Stadium concert nights). For Sydney Showground events, Olympic Boulevard is the recommended drop-off and pick-up point. We confirm the point for your event before the day and your chauffeur messages you on the night.

Roads close early

On big Accor Stadium nights roads inside the precinct close in stages from the early hours, and rideshare is geofenced to set meeting points before and after the show. For arena shows, Transport for NSW suggests choosing a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the venue.

Parking

Event parking is $40 a car on select days. For the biggest stadium shows Transport for NSW says not to drive without pre-booked parking, which closes at 11:59pm the night before, and Sydney Olympic Park Authority warns that leaving a car park after a major event can take more than an hour.

Trains and buses

Olympic Park station is inside the precinct, with trains from Lidcombe and express event trains from Central on big nights. Some tickets include public transport (the Foo Fighters and Robbie Williams shows in November 2026 do), so check yours.

After the show

For big Accor Stadium shows Transport for NSW expects heavy demand after the show and warns that taxi and rideshare prices are likely to surge. Your GR8 fare is fixed when you book and does not change on the night.
